ABOUT BEB
BeB is a minority female founded baked goods business normalizing entomophagy, or eating bugs, by emphasizing the high nutritional value and the positive environmental impacts. BeB plans to ease the negative public perception associated with eating bugs by using unintimidating widely popular brownie. BeB strives to shatter the societal stigma around eating bugs.
Why Bugs?
For most of the population, eating meat is one of the largest contributors to our carbon footprint. Producing only one hamburger uses enough fossil fuel to drive a small car twenty miles. We are yet to have a sustainable substitution for meat products. It is anticipated that in the near future, eating bugs will be commonplace, however western perceptions of entomophagy make many skeptical of this substitution. BeB plans to ease Western consumers into the idea of entomophagy.
